'The Rosie Project' and Why It Is Truly Rosy!

Hello, again! I am back with my thoughts on a beautifully written, truly rosy, feel-good novel and convince you to read it as well.

The Rosie Project

Fun Fact (according to me, obviously): The main character is a Don (a high-ranking member of the Mafia). Not really. His name is Don Tillman and he might not be a Don but surely he can kick someone's butt with his Aikido skills. Bill Gates (I am pretty sure that I don't need to tell you who he is) recommended this book to at least 50 of his friends.

I read it this afternoon and I couldn't resist letting you in the utterly charming, hilarious, and quirky 'Rosie Project'.

Who Might Give This Book A Shot:

People who like Romantic Comedies, appreciate a Quirky, not 'Conventional' Hero and Heroine, value Fresh Hilarious Plots, want to have a Good Laugh, enjoy Hero POV books and wish to join the 'Bill Gates Book Club' (wink).

Who Might Like It:

Almost anyone and everyone who will read it.

Who Might Not Love It:

If someone doesn't enjoy it thoroughly, I would like to believe they are real-life professors of genetics and are in the mood to nitpick, rather than lay back and enjoy. I am not blaming them here. And also some people might not like the fact that Don is relatable to Sheldon from 'Big Bang Theory'. Fidelity (through mutually agreed upon) might trigger some people but let me tell you beforehand that it was among the side characters.

What It Is All About:

The Genetics Professor

Don, our beloved Associate Professor of genetics with slightly alcoholic tendencies, is proficient in Aikido and has Asperger syndrome – but he doesn’t know that (my theory along with that of many others). He is convinced that he is not made for romance since he is not 'conventionally' socially fit until a friend of his (one of the very few) tells him that he would make a 'wonderful' partner. So he sets up an unconventional questionnaire for candidates of the wife position under 'The Wifey Project' which leads to a lot of disasters, one of them a beautiful one though. He meets Rosie, a completely failing candidate.

Rosie, our
bewitching and fiery heroine, has a project of her own to find her biological father, in which she needs the help of our DNA expert, Don. Together, they embark on an adventurous journey while breaking rules that Don has always held dear. And let me tell you that you will keep on guessing till the end who her father is/was.

The Father Project

Emotions clash, misunderstandings happen, hearts break and acceptance binds them along the way.  It might seem like that the hero was set on changing himself for the heroine but I think he assumed that it was him whom she wanted to change, but in truth, she wanted something entirely different from him which even he thought he could not provide.

Which Is My Favorite Part of It:

I love how quirky the narration throughout the story is and I truly adore the way Don sees things and experiences, without understanding the social meaning attached to them, even though it proved to be troublesome at times. And the ending to 'The Father Project' was quite interesting and a little unexpected. Also, I really appreciate the fact that this book is a stand-alone, even though it has two sequels.

Which Lessons to Learn/ Not Learn:

  • It's okay to not be 'conventional', it's all about how golden your heart is.
  • You don't need to change who you are for anyone.
Do you eat Liver?

  • Questionnaires are very useful, just not really meant for finding a wife.
  • Don't judge the person by their appearance or job status without knowing the full story.
  • Indulging in drinking is injurious to health.

What I Rate It:

4.5/5 stars with full expectations that you would read it and comment down how you felt about it. I really love to hear different views on the same book, especially the good ones. Also, you can move on to the other books in this series as well, even though I haven't personally read the sequels yet.

'Confess' and My Confessions About It!

Hello there! I am back and feeling a lot of things with my emotions all over the place. My heart is a lot fuller than it was when I began reading 'Confess' by Colleen Hoover. I don't know why, but for some reason, I was hesitant about reading books by Colleen Hoover but then I did. This one is the third book I read by her and I can't wait to share all that this book made me feel. Confess Fun Fact  (according to me, obviously): Before we get into the heavy stuff, and trust me when I say that there is a lot of it, let's talk about the fun stuff. Even though many will put this book in the Young Adult/ Contemporary Romance genre, the author totally resists putting a genre to her books. If you put her in a box, she will claw her way out of it. Also, this book has been turned into a TV series but I personally don't think that the depth of emotions that you will feel by reading would be replicated by watching. And no, I am not telling you to not watch it, go ahead as p

'Love Hacked' and Why I Love It!

Hello! I am pretty sure that from this very sentence I will ramble whatever comes to my mind, so consider yourself warned. I am Win and I am a reader trying to write about the books I have read. I believe I will write what has come to my mind about the book without any refinement as I am not a very graceful person. I am an absolute beginner and have ditched attempting to open the sites which read 'How to be a Book Blogger'. You might be wondering if that's because I have an idea about where this blog is going or I feel that I am too smart to read someone's articles. The thing is I am too impatient. I have been pretty impromptu whenever I start working on a new idea. I believe that this must have given you enough insight into my character already so let's proceed to the book. Hey there! Fun Fact (according to me, obviously): The author's name is Penny 'Reid'. No, that's not the fun fact, this is. She was a biomedical researcher, is a knitter, crochet
